Why join a fraternity?

Sure, there’s the sense of unity, of belonging to something great. Of course, there are the new friends you’ll make along the way. And naturally, there are always the parties you’ll have. But with Lambda Chi Alpha, you’ll take fraternal life a step further. A step closer. A step better.

Lambda Chi Alpha at Millsaps is the fraternal experience.

In an organization with the top fraternal GPA and the top party reputation on campus, not to mention an innovative food drive that has grown into the largest one-day philanthropic event in the Greek world, you’ll be joining a chapter with a history of excellence. And with regularly scheduled movie nights, scholarship lectures, Capture the Flag games, Watermelon Busts, and practically anything else our members’ imaginations can devise, we give you the power to keep our chapter on the upward track.

Becoming a Lambda Chi, like everything else worthwhile in life, is not an easy decision. For us, however, when we looked beyond the carefully planned parties of formal recruitment, we were blown away by the honesty and humor and just plain camraderie of the Lambda Chi Alpha brothers. These were the guys who always made their grades but still threw the best parties on campus. The guys who were leading the campus organizations one day and volunteering around Jackson the next. The guys who welcomed you as an equal, a brother, from day one. And through Lambda Chi, these were the guys who guaranteed me more lifelong friendships than we ever dreamed college could offer...

Lambda Chi Alpha International

Lambda Chi Alpha is one of the largest men’s fraternities in North America with more than 227, 000 initiated members and chapters at more than 300 universities. It is the first fraternity to eliminate pledging and a leader in the fight against hazing.

The Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity will provide you with a lifetime of memories and experiences. You will develop a strong bond with members. There will always be someone to talk to who will understand and help you with any problems. Within the Lambda Chi Alpha collegiate experience you will:

• Develop lifelong friendships

• Engage in responsibilities managing and governing chapter affairs

• Have a voice at the General Fraternity

• Have the chance to develop your leadership talents

Associate Membership

At Lambda Chi Alpha you don’t pledge with us, YOU JOIN US!

An associate member is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha who has not yet been initiated. Lambda Chi Alpha does not use the term “pledge” to refer to a new member. The term “pledge” is associated with negative connotations. An Associate Member of Lambda Chi Alpha will never be expected to do anything a brother would not do. Associate Members will never be expected to participate in any activities that may be considered as hazing. Associate Members will be exposed to the values of Lambda Chi Alpha. Associate Members can run for and hold office in the chapter. An Associate Member can even be elected president.

The Creed of Lambda Chi Alpha

We believe in Lambda Chi Alpha, and its traditions, principles and ideals. The crescent is our symbol; pure, high ever growing, and the cross is our guide; denoting service, sacrifice, and even suffering and humiliation before the world, bravely endured if need be, in following that ideal.

May we have faith in Lambda Chi Alpha and passion for its welfare. May we have hope for the future of Lambda Chi Alpha and strength to fight for its teachings. May we have pure hearts, that we may approach the ideal of perfect brotherly love.

The Vision, Mission, and Objectives of Lambda Chi Alpha

The vision of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity is to prepare and encourage collegiate men of good character, high ethics, and noble ideals to contribute positively to the world in which they live.

The mission of Lambda Chi Alpha is to offer the best fraternal experience, focusing on personal character development through leadership, scholarship, community service, and positive social experiences.

Objective One. Focus the Fraternity on personal character development through leadership, scholarship, community service, and positive social experiences.

Objective Two. Support undergraduate and alumni members through improvement and development of programs, standards, and services that focus on personal character development through leadership, scholarship, community service, and positive social experiences.

Objective Three. Manage and increase the resources of the Fraternity including undergraduate membership, alumni involvement, assets, revenues, communications, and technology.
